Lina,

There is so much more to you than your being a Professor at George Brown College. I found yours an impressive website. Aside from your being an accomplished author (and I enjoyed the clip on your book that i watched on your homepage), I thought the most interesting part of your life for me as discovered on your website was that you write music lyrics, including having done so for a musical. Our multi-dimensional lives are never as uni-dimensional as they so often appear to those people who we simply meet in more thematic settings.

Thanks for sharing your website with me. I enjoyed the opportuity to browse through it.

So…. is there really a “curse of the Giganteschis” (or some other curse-name that was replaced by this name)?

This is a powerfully and poetically written book that keeps the reader enraptured by its many-faceted characters of small-town Aquilonia. I too come from a small town, but in Cape Breton, NS, and can relate to those family traditions and complexities that come from people living in such close proximity. It was an inspiring read and has left me with a feeling of everlasting love for Italy!

Dear Lina,
Great story, I truly found it interesting. I just wanted to read and read to see what happens to all the characters in your story. I could relate to Italy and Toronto, even though I was born here, to Italian parents, I could understand the Italian ways. I enjoyed the way it went back and forth to both countries. I admire your brillance.

Just saw the video of “The Demons of Aquilonia”. It is great! It caught my attention and I was so intrigued that if I saw it on television I’d say “Forget the book, I’ve got to see this movie and when is it going to be in theatres!”

Thank you for your interest in my site and in my novel. I love the name “Aquilonia,” as it has personal significance for me. That is why I used it as the name of a fictional town in Calabria. Although we might be related (is your family name the same as mine?), I don’t know of any relatives of mine who live in the actual (beautiful, by the way!) Aquilonia. Tell me more….

Dear Lina,
I just read your novel “The Demons of Aquilonia”. It is a very moving and powerful account of village life in a small town in Southern Italy. As an Italian-Canadian, I too find the story a familiar one. The characters, the multiple plots and even the struggles are remeniscent of tales we all have in our family histories. Beautifully written, Bravo!
